Hey, BigCommerce stores, we'll have an app for you soon
If you operate an ecommerce store that uses the BigCommerce platform, you'll soon have an easy way to show your commitment to sustainability—at no cost to you—by giving your customers the option to green their shipping through a Cloverly app.
Cloverly's API can calculate the approximate carbon emissions of an ecommerce shipment, then compensate by avoiding, offsetting, or sequestering the same amount of carbon elsewhere in the environment. That can make the shipping carbon-neutral because, on a net basis, it's not contributing any additional carbon to the atmosphere.
In addition, by creating new demand for carbon offsets and other instruments used to offset carbon costs, our customers help encourage the development of renewable energy generation and other technologies to fight climate change.
Best of all, it costs you, the store owner, nothing. At checkout, a simple checkbox lets the customer opt to pay a little extra—usually less than $1—to voluntarily green their shipping. They check the box, or not, and then proceed with checkout. Simple.
Since our launch more than a year ago, we've offered apps for stores built on Magento and Shopify. Our API also works with other platforms, including custom stores.
Now we've moved into the testing phase of our upcoming app for BigCommerce stores. We'll let you know when it's ready.
Sustainability has become a core value for more and more ecommerce stores and their customers. Cloverly makes it easy to put that commitment into action. Soon, for BigCommerce stores, it will be easier than ever.
